SPHEROIDAL WEATHERING
Spheroidal weathering (a.k.a. exfoliation)
results in the rounding off of corners and sharp edges of rock masses. It
tends to occur in intrusive igneous rocks (e.g., the exfoliation domes
in the Yosemite Valley area, California, USA) and some massive sandstones
(e.g., Arches
National Park, Utah, USA).

Haverstraw, southeastern New York State, USA.
