RHODONITE
Rhodonite is a manganese silicate mineral (MnSiO3),
and is often referred to as a pyroxenoid mineral. Rhodonite is translucent
to transparent, with a glassy, nonmetallic luster, a reddish, pinkish, or brownish
color, and a hardness around 6. Chemically, rhodonite always has a
calcium component and sometimes has iron or zinc.
