GRAPHIC  GRANITES

Granites having a graphic texture (runic texture) consist of potassium feldspar and quartz crystals that interpenetrate in a way that somewhat resembles ancient writing, like Cuneiform or sometimes Arabic.  Such rocks are graphic granites (a.k.a. runic granites; runites).  Graphic granite is a not-uncommon component of pegmatites.

Some decorative stones are pegmatitic granites, and large slabs of such rock often have areas of graphic granite.  The varieties shown below are not necessarily entirely graphic granite.

Persia Original Granite - a graphic granite with creamy-yellowish potassium feldspar and gray quartz.

White Delicatus Granite - a garnetiferous graphic granite with creamy-white potassium feldspar, gray quartz, and very dark red garnet, attributed to Brazil.
