Grand Canyon of the Colorado River
Angular unconformity (subtle but real) (above & below) between the
cliff-forming Tapeats Sandstone above (Cambrian) and the gently tilted,
slope-forming Grand Canyon Supergroup below (Proterozoic).
Nonconformity (above & below) between the Bright Angel Shale-Tapeats Sandstone
above (Cambrian) and Precambrian-aged basements rocks (granites & gneisses)
below. This is the "Great Unconformity".
