Dithyrocaris
The fossils shown below are well preserved specimens
of an unnamed species of Dithyrocaris, a fossil phyllocarid
crustacean. Complete and disarticulated specimens are moderately common
in a blocky-weathering, carbonaceous black shale bed of the lower Breathitt
Formation (Pennsylvanian) in northern Kentucky.
